This study conducted a scoping review to identify effective collaborative practices for improving transition to work of youth with disabilities A careful analysis of these articles revealed current effective collaborations along with the areas of improvement to further facilitate and increase the successful employment outcomes for transition-age youth with disabilities. The findings of this scoping review will provide important information for rehabilitation counselors to engage and assist transition-age youth with disabilities.

Yazmin Castruita Rios, MRC, CRC
Yazmin Castruita Rios is a Hispanic-Latina third-year doctoral student at the University of Wisconsin-Madison pursuing a degree on Rehabilitation Counselor Education. Her research interests include transition-age youth with disabilities, equity in provision and accessibility of services, employment, Latinx community, and multicultural issues in rehabilitation counseling.

Sara Park, M.S., CRC
Sara received her undergraduate degree in psychology with a clinical counseling concentration. She worked with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder providing early intensive behavioral treatment before joining the Master’s program in Rehabilitation Clinical Counseling Psychology at the University of Wisconsin—Madison.  Her research interest is the improvement of the quality of life of transition-age youths primarily with Intellectual and/or Developmental Disabilities (IDD). She is interested in services and interventions provided for this population and how to improve the quality, efficiency, coordination, and collaborations of these services and interventions. She is continuing her doctoral studies to research this area in the same program at UW Madison.
